After you do the disk clean, did you do another list disk, list part?

I’ve seen failing disks not completing that properly.

It just says there are no partitions.

New computer right? So boot off of the install media do advanced setup and delete any partitions and try to Install.

That is literally what I did.

But it won’t create a new primary partition.

Unplug any harddrives that aren’t the one you want to install windows on.

Do you have anything else plugged in that doesn’t need to be? Also swap the drives that you want to install on, I’d use the one you don’t want to install on and unplug the other.

What version of Windows is that, 8.1 or 10? Is it a standard SATA hard drive, with the BIOS set to AHCI and not RAID mode?

Delete all partitions. Every single one. It should show you all disk space as unallocated, click next. Setup will create whats needed. Never manually partition the drive during windows setup unless you are 100% positive about what youre partitioning.

Now, more importantly, if the drive is say, 3tb and the machine does not support EFI (if its brand new, disregard this), it wont work at all. Nothing you do will get the system to be bootable.

I have too, seen a similar issue years ago with a DOA (well failing on arrival) disk. It did pop a smart error randomly though. I would try a alternate disk to eliminate

That’s what diskpart clean all does, it wipes everything. Problem now is it says it’s free space but when he or setup tries to create the partition, it fails.
